Though it has lost the top installed base battle to Axiata’s Celcom, and is slipping compared to Digi, Maxis says it has the number-one coverage of 4G Long Term Evolution service in Malaysia.
In 2015, Axiata Celcom, with 12.3 million subscribers, had the largest share of the mobile market at 31.3 percent, followed by Maxis at 31 percent and Digi with 30 percent.
Maxis in 2015 grew service revenue grew 3.8 percent.Prepaid revenue grew 6.2 percent year over year, while postpaid revenue grew 2.7 percent.
Earnings (Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization, or EBITDA) grew 4.1 percent.
Year over year, service revenue grew 3.2 percent to RM2,160 million from RM2,094 million.
