There is a very good reason Google, Facebook and others spend so much time and effort trying to increase Internet access in India. With 1.25 billion people, just about 240 million Indians regularly use the Internet, according to Global Webindex. 

The role of mobility also is key. Some 85 percent of Indians who use the Internet get access using a mobile device and mobile network.
